Rachel Samrén
A corporate diplomacy and responsible business expert, Rachel currently serves as Non-Executive Director of the Board of Caribbean and Latin American communications provider Digicel Group and as Chair of the Board’s Compliance Committee and member of its Audit Committee; as a Director of the International Board of Plan International Inc, one of the world’s largest development and humanitarian organizations advancing children’s rights and equality for girls, where she also Chairs the People & Culture Committee of the Board; as a member of the Global Advisory Council of University of Miami Herbert Business School; and as a Director of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago International Finance Limited. Concurrently with her NED roles, Rachel works as an advisor on geopolitical, regulatory risk, governance and compliance, and responsible business matters generally, with a particular interest in technology, security, fintech and dual-use sectors.
Until 2023 she served as SVP, Chief External Affairs, Governance and Trust Officer for Telia Company AB, prior to which she was EVP, Chief External Affairs Officer for Millicom (Tigo). She has also held senior roles with The Risk Advisory Group and worked in corporate banking at Citigroup.
Rachel holds a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MLitt in International Security Studies from the University of St Andrews.
